Pierre Jeanneret, rare cane and teakwood Chair designed for P.U.University Library in Chandigarh (1966), India. Teak, woven cane and upholstered seat cushion featuring cloth covering. See photo before restoration when I bought it in Chandigarh (we are one of the few to propose these photos).
This Chair is completely original except the caning (all these chairs have been re-caned five or six times during their 60 years life). Very nice patina.
A set of 6 such Chairs has been sold $ 197 000 at Phillips Auction New York (lot 342 / Design Sale December 15, 2015).
